Our conference

In addition to the other activities of the After Prison Network, each year we host a three day conference which brings together delegates from around Australasia, North America and Europe. Researchers, policy makers, people with lived experience of prison, advocates and service providers come together to share ideas and information and to build networks.

The Reintegration Puzzle Conference was created by Professor Joe Graffam in 2004 when he identified the need for opportunities among people and organisations involved in transition to community by released prisoners to network, share ideas, and create collaborations. The first conference was convened in 2005 and has been convened annually since then all around Australia as well as New Zealand and Singapore.

Deakin University is the host of the Reintegration Puzzle Conference.

Visit the conference website for more information and Upcoming Events on this website.

Due to the global pandemic and continued state border closures, the 16th annual conference in Perth in March 2021 cannot go ahead. We hope to continue to stay connected online and later meet up in person again. If you registered for the conference, please contact Jenny Crosbie by email at jcrosbie@deakin.edu.au.

Visit the conference website for details about the conference.

Meanwhile, check out our events page where we will be listing some network webinar events.
